Cowork Together?, Sun>Screens + Color Analysis š - April 2025 Life Recap
Monthly check-in for people who, like me, like to snoop on others' lives.
Towards the start of every month, I share a look back at the previous one. Itās a fun way to share behind the scenes of my goals while staying accountable to reflection!
Aprilās Recap āļø
Theme was: āRadical Honesty!ā š¢ Sharing my first Q+A (including an actual scary-to-me question), explaining why my biz partner and I deleted everything to start afresh, telling my story through my adventure fundraiser, tweaking a lot of my website copy for accuracy and current reality, and some good olā everyday speaking up my opinions and needs (what a practice, right?).
Big wins: Raising $1,050 to help more girls and women access the outdoors (through my gravel bike race!š²), volunteering at the Gorge Waterfalls 50k and watching a friend crush it, getting my color analysis done (LOL I never wouldāve seen this coming ((Iām a warm autumn)) but now Iām so intrigued), having a friend visit from Cali who got me to watch an entire TV show season (Paradise), tackling the terrible blackberry vines in the yard (I think I like yard work now???), and hosting a comedy show and a womenās run with Trail Sisters.
Challenges: Not enough ski days after a fantastic Q1 š¢ but ātis the season. The whole bike race pressure and culture wasnāt really my vibe. A couple instances of āwhat the heck how did I schedule so much into one day that now I donāt have time to breatheā (still working on that one and it happens time to time).
Experiment: My experiment of ābeing radically honestā is recapped above since it overlapped with Aprilās theme!
Core 4 and Angie 3.0 progress: Iāve kept (and mostly successfully adopted) āoutside by 11amā and ābreakfast before second coffee ā,ā but if youāve been following along you know I got stuck on two others and wanted to revamp them. After experimenting through April, I identified my one āFuture Selfā behavior⦠āSun before screens!ā I step out on the porch before or with coffee and soak in the nature for a few minutes before I even touch my phone. Within a few days I knew how good this one is for me. My day starts with calm, light, and a gentle transition. āļø Keeping it.
Bike race training progress: Slightly embarrassed to say it but Iām SO GLAD this race and training plan is over. I struggled more than Iāve ever before with training for a sports event, and I didnāt love the overall culture either. š¤·āāļø (Like at the race start line, they were blasting Metallica while I was squished in with a ton of men and the announcer was shouting about how the riders around you donāt care about you⦠Very broāy.) You can read the quick recap of the day here. In the end, I ended up with 77.7 miles and 7k feet of elevation gain as a nod to the $777 I was aiming to fundraise for The Cairn Project (though I ended up with $1,050!).
^^ Starting next month, this will say ā50 miler training progressā for a RUN in August!
Best thing I spent money on: A local tailor! š This was my first time getting my ānormalā clothes altered. I had a few pieces I loved but rarely wore since they didnāt fit quite right. A too-long bridesmaid dress prompted me to call Heidi, and I ended up also bringing in a top with a broken zipper, a too-loose dress, pants that needed a dart, and a weird fringe jacket that was too boxy. She made magic happen!!!! Definitely a bit more money than I expected (I could probably save by going to a bigger city) but worth it since now Iāll actually wear the damn clothes.
Worst thing I spent money on: MY TAXES LOLLLLL. I ended up spending about 3x as much on taxes as Iād expected for reasons I wonāt bore you with today. I was excited this spring to work with a financial advisor to learn to invest, max out my contributions where I could, etc. That part was certainly worthwhile, but I had a lot less to play with after paying the tax bill⦠šø Iām happy to share more about money and taxes as a self-employed gal ā drop your questions here if you want!
New in the media:
My biz partner and I share why we deleted all our episodes of our businessās podcast. š«¢
I built a page to update with āUpcoming Eventsā for anyone who wants to hang IRL. š¤ (A live dating game show! Moderated panels on tough topics! An all-womenās race! Something called āCocaine Yogiā!)
See Her Outside episode: Processing Grief and Celebrating Women in the Wilderness: Carlyās Mountaineering Story š§
How I Increased My Skiing Confidence by a Bajillion this Winter ā·ļø
Mayās Focus
Theme: āLife Comes Firstā - At the end of April, I was stressed TF out about May: 26ish hours of recerting my Wilderness First Responder during an already full workweek. A bunch of events to host that I adore but that also take a lot of planning. Traveling around the west for 3 different wedding-related events in 8 days. š
I found myself totally not living in the moment and instead feeling the urge to answer emails in fear of āgetting too behind.ā Then I was like⦠isnāt the whole point of the life Iām trying to build to not feel that urgency? That need to WORK so damn hard? Isnāt the point to get outdoors, to be a great friend, to travel away from home and support others in their dreams?
SO. A reminder for myself. Life comes first. May will be about enjoyment > production. Relationships > email. Life > work. š
Excited for:
Digging more into COLOR in clothing now that I have my color analysis results! š Should I write a post about this and how Iām exploring mindfulness in shopping, etc? Let me know.
An annual Mount Saint Helens climb with the gals (and now a couple dudes too!). š

Coworking interest?! š» I used to host a virtual coworking and accountability group. This was kinda magical for 1) getting the shit done that you keep putting off and 2) bouncing ideas off others to get feedback on your work. Iām toying around with starting another iteration of this but need to know if youād want to participate. Email me hi@itsangiemarie.com or reply to this post to let me know, okay?
š¶ Gorge dog/house sitters⦠Anyone from PDX/Gorge/traveling who can tap in?
Work together:
Check out Trail Talks! Iām organizing free storytelling-meets-adventure-meets-fundraising virtual skill workshops for women.
Sign up for the Wild Woman Marathon, 50k, Half Marathon, or Relay! š¶
⨠I cleaned up my services page! ⨠Check it out if you have a bold idea you want to bring to life and need help from a stoked sidekick (hi).

My Qās for youā¦
Have you done a color analysis?! Thoughts???
How do you set the tone for a good day? (Like my āsun before screensā new focus!)
Would you wanna hear more about an accountability/feedback group if I brought it back to life? š”
