TL;DR: You should subscribe to Blood, Sweat & Fear if you ever liked following me on Instagram.
Make sure you subscribe now to get full access to the newsletter and the archives. I promise, this’ll be fun— but you can always peace out anytime if you don’t vibe.
This is for anyone who wants storytelling, community, and events that drive outdoor equity and women's inclusion.
In this weekly email, I explore the intersection of adventure and womanhood as it shapes my own worldview.
I believe that women’s connection to nature fosters a happier and healthier planet.
I’m constantly thinking about how nature shapes us as humans: in body, mind, and creative spirit.
My inner nature guides me to experiment, dream, audit my values, and approach life with a cyclical mindset. AKA the🩸BLOOD of my work. (Menstrual cycle nerds, unite!)
Time spent in outer nature teaches me to take risks, be bold, shout my beliefs from the mountaintops, and stick up for myself. This is where I 💪SWEAT and get a bit dirty, but am so much better for it.
Then there’s my friend ✨FEAR. She’s there, climbing the mountain with me, but damn, she’s an annoying trail buddy. Still, every time we finish a hike together, I end up braver, bolder, more creative, and happier than when I started. So I invite her along.
Blood, Sweat & Fear helps others understand the beauty and challenges of existing in a female body, celebrate the impact that comes from women who adventure, and hear stories of folks speaking up for positive change.
Once a week, you’ll get stories of my and others’ Blood, Sweat & Fear so you can reflect on your own badass life and call in your own adventurous mindset.
Plus, one week a month, you’ll get a monthly life recap, sharing:
Goal progress from the previous month and this month’s intentions
The best and worst things I spent money on
Training and adventure recaps
Fave photos of the month
etc. Here’s an example.
I’m opting for Substack over Instagram/Facebook/TikTok/whatever these days because:
1 | Let’s be real; I’m too chatty to be a short-form girlie. I’m so over the attention-grabbing but low-quality content on most social media apps and find I waste too much time on there, both creating and consuming. Substack has been a breath of fresh air on the consumption side: I can only see what I want to see, support creators I love, and read whenever is convenient for ME. So, let’s try it out as a creator!
2 | You’re invited to chime in on posts so we can stay in touch! I’d be stoked to have you chime into the comments whenever you have a thought to share. I don’t love Instagram comments/Story replies— they’re hard to find and follow along, and it’s hard to have a meaningful conversation. My Substack posts are open for comments so we can have more intentional back-and-forth AND have others chime in. Yay for new internet friends. :)
3 | I love to experiment, and this platform allows for enough customization and features to play with and not feel confined to a grid! Podcasts, visuals, links, recommendations… I feel more expansive in what Substack can do vs. Instagram. Plus, this feels more choose-your-own-adventure for YOU as well; open the emails that pique your interest and leave the rest.
Okay friend. Tap the cute ‘lil gold subscribe button if you wanna stay in touch! <3
